Description
Working on the Singel, with a view over the water, plenty of daylight and a beamed ceiling almost three metres high. This office space on the raised ground floor (bel-etage) of Singel 393 has been beautifully renovated over the past year and made much more energy efficient, and now has energy label A++. That's rare for offices on the canals. You'll be the first tenant since the renovation, and the Spui and the Negen Straatjes are just a few minutes' walk away. I'd be happy to show you around.
Tip:
Take a look at our virtual 3D tour on our website as well. You can walk through the whole office space virtually and get a good sense of the layout and the rooms straight away.
The office space:
A short flight of steps from the pavement takes you to the front door on the raised ground floor. On the bench outside you can eat your lunch when the weather's nice, with the canal right in front of you.
The front room is the heart of the office. Lots of light comes in through the tall windows with transoms above them, and you look out over the water between the trees. The original wainscoting is still in place below the windows, and wooden beams run overhead. At the front there's room for several workstations.
Next you come to the kitchen, with an induction hob, oven, extractor hood and dishwasher. There's room for a kitchen table, so you can have lunch together here and quickly make coffee for your guests.
The middle section also has room for several workstations, so a small team can spread out comfortably across the space.
Behind the middle section, through a steel door with glass, is a separate workroom. Here too there's plenty of daylight, coming in through two skylights. The room is ideal for meetings, confidential conversations or some quiet, focused work.
The office has its own toilet and a bathroom with a rain shower and washbasin. There's also a small storage room for archives or stock, with space for a washing machine if needed.
During the renovation everything was refinished, with white walls and a light floor, while the character of the old canal house has been kept.
The area:
Singel 393 is right in the middle of the canal belt, between the Spui and the Negen Straatjes. On the Spui you'll find Athenaeum Boekhandel, the centuries-old Café Hoppe and the book market every Friday. Through the Wijde Heisteeg you're in the Negen Straatjes in no time, with small shops, coffee bars and lunch spots. The Begijnhof, the Kalverstraat and the Bloemenmarkt are also within walking distance.
Getting here is easy. The Spui tram stop is around the corner and Rokin metro station on the Noord/Zuidlijn is a few minutes' walk. The metro takes you to Zuid station and the Zuidas in no time, and from Zuid you're at Schiphol in about half an hour. Amsterdam Centraal is within walking distance.
